Steps against ex-CJI's brother if govt gets complaint: CM

"The Government has so far not received any complaint against Bhaskaran. Action will be taken if any complaint is received," he told reporters during his weekly cabinet briefing.
Bhaskaran, appointed as special government pleader for various cases relating to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, went on medical leave yesterday after the Advocate General asked him to either demit office or go on leave.
Media reports had said Bhaskaran had purchased about 60 acres in Dindigul in Tamil Nadu in 2005-06 in the name of his wife, four children and K G Praveen, a close relative of Balakrishnan and had built a farmhouse there. The property is reportedly up for sale.
Bhaskaran has described the media reports as "exaggerated".
The development relating to Bhaskaran came as more embarrassment to Balakrishnan as the Kerala government yesterday set in motion the process of a vigilance probe against his son-in-law P V Sreenijan for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Balakrishnan's second son-in-law M J Benni also came under a shadow with sections of the local media reporting that he had also purchased prime plots on the suburbs of Kochi within a span of two years.
