STF sleuths kill Thokia gang member
STF men gunned down a criminal and dacoit Rajkaran belonging to Thokia gang and recovered four hand grenades, one 9mm pistol, 30 cartridges and a binocular from his possession. The encounter took place in Chota Baghara near Polytechnic in Colonelganj. Rajkaran aka Chachchu?s accomplice who could not be identified managed to escape on a mobike. Besides UP, the killed dacoit was carrying a reward of 20,000 announced by the MP government.
STF men gunned down a criminal and dacoit Rajkaran belonging to Thokia gang and recovered four hand grenades, one 9mm pistol, 30 cartridges and a binocular from his possession.
The encounter took place in Chota Baghara near Polytechnic in Colonelganj.
Rajkaran aka Chachchu’s accomplice who could not be identified managed to escape on a mobike. Besides UP, the killed dacoit was carrying a reward of 20,000 announced by the MP government.
Additional SP STF Ashok Tripathi had definite information about the presence of Rajkaran in the city. He was the real uncle of the much-dreaded dacoit of Chitrakoot and Banda, Ambika Patel alias Thokia.
STF had been tipped off that Rajkaran along with an accomplice was in the city to kidnap a person. As a result he directed DY SP Asutosh Tripathi to be on his trail. On Wednesday evening Asutosh came to know that Rajkaran had gone to Chota Baghara along with an accomplice on his motorbike. As a result he lay an ambush near the polytechnic.
Around 9 pm the STF tried to stop two men approaching on a mobike from Baghara side but instead of stopping they opened fire. STF retaliated to the firing resulting in the death of Rajkaran.
The mobike rider managed to escape. The bag, which the dacoit was carrying, contained four army hand grenades, nine mm pistol, cartridges and a binocular.
Sources said, after Thokia Rajkaran, his real uncle, enjoyed the second place in the hierarchy. He was a resident of Lokharianpur village in Karvi Chitrakoot. He was last nabbed in 2002.
