GCA President Narhari Amin said preparations were on in full swing and a special meeting was held on Friday with State Home Secretary K C Kapoor, Deputy Inspector General of Police P K Jha, Superintendent of police Brahma Bhatt, the Collectors of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar and Executive Members of GCA, to oversee the security arrangements.
The match is scheduled to be held at Motera Stadium near Ahmedabad.
"The Home Secretary has given us the assurance that all aspects of the teams' security would be taken care of and that there was no cause for worry as the state government was taking all precautions," Amin told reporters.
Asked about a possible threat of damage to the pitch by Shiv Sena or any other organisation, Amin said State Reserve Police force had been deployed inside the Stadium and strict vigil was being maintained in and around it.
He said GCA had not received any threat from any quarter and expressed confidence that the match would be conducted smoothly.
