THANKS TO Education Department officials’ apathy and the school management’s mistakes, an intermediate examinee Akhilesh Kr Trivedi was not allowed to appear in two papers, as the school management alleged that he had filled up forms from two centres. The student denied the allegation.

The boy and his mother reached Shiksha Bhawan on Tuesday afternoon to air their grievances to the DIOS. They said Akhilesh had initially sought admission in Class XI in one unrecognised school, but later withdrew as he doubted the school’s credentials. The student was then enrolled at Aawasiya Public Inter College. The boy appeared in the March 4 examination, but was not allowed to take the other papers.

Repeated pleas by the candidate and his mother failed to move officials who simply expressed their inability to do anything in the matter. When Hawaldar Singh of Aawasiya Public was informed about this case, he assured the boy his grievance would be redressed. But when the boy reached the appointed place, Singh was not available.

When he went to the examination cetnre, he was denied entry and thus missed the examination.

Meanwhile, DIOS Vikas Srivastava urged invigilators to report for duty, or face financial penalty.
