Koirala had reportedly canvassed for a mayoral candidate for the municipal polls of February 8 which is being opposed by the seven-party pro-democracy alliance.
The students belonging to Tri-Chandra College burnt effigy of the Nepal-born actress during a demonstration against the polls being conducted by King Gyanedra's royal government.
The eight student organisations have called for boycott of Manisha's films for allegedly supporting the Royal takeover and canvassing a Mayoral candidate in her home town Biratnagar.
Manisha is the grand daughter of Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala and her father Prakash Koirala is Minister for Environment and Population in King Gyanendra's cabinet.
