Students demand recruitment of teachers
ALLAHABAD UNIVERSITY students have protested against a move to extend services of teachers retiring in June this year. The students, led by student leaders Zia Quonain Rizvi, Lalaram Saroj, Chandrika Patel and Harish Chandra Patel, demanded recruitment of new teachers for posts lying vacant and evacuation of flats occupied by retired teachers.

The students, led by student leaders Zia Quonain Rizvi, Lalaram Saroj, Chandrika Patel and Harish Chandra Patel, demanded recruitment of new teachers for posts lying vacant and evacuation of flats occupied by retired teachers.
The student leaders said the AU administration had been trying to extend the services of AU teachers retiring on June 30 while 185 seats were still vacant.
The leaders demanded from the AU administration to open new departments and recruitment of new teachers rather than engage retiring teachers. Those present were Awinash Singh, Saurabh Pandey, Ajit Bhaskar, Mohit Patel, Mohit Khanna, Rashid Ahmed, Ejazur Rehman, Mohd Vaish, Nawab Mehboob, Sunil Dwivedi, and Sanjeev Pandey.
