They said that the protest agitation would be terminated only after the Vice-Chancellor Prof RG Harshe attends to their demands. According to AUSU chief Ajit Kumar Yadav the VC has assured the agitating students to hold talks with them in the evening.

Unhappy with the composition of the fact-finding team appointed by the Vice-Chancellor to probe the allegations, the AUSU members demanded exclusion of Science Faculty teachers from the team and relieving of Head of the Zoology department Prof Pratima Gaur for a free and fair probe.

AUU president expressed his anger over the reported soft stand of the Vice-Chancellor over the issue of misuse of funds and said that be it the misuse of lab grant or spending of funds received by the department for other projects, the varsity should get it properly investigated.

Earlier on Saturday evening the VC has assured the students to expand the fact finding committee and had stated that a fair and impartial investigation of the allegations would be carried out.

The students demanded appointment of non-science faculty teachers in the fact-finding committee appointed by the VC to probe the allegation of funds misuse.

Meanwhile police force was deployed at the site to maintain peace owing to Saturday's incidents when students had gone on rampage and damaged furniture and flower pots.

Several student leaders including Suresh Yadav and Brajendra Mishra besides many students have supported the protest agitation.
