The Allahabad University (AU) students led by Pratiyogi Chhatra Morcha (PCM president Rajesh Singh, AU student union general secretary Suresh Yadav, Vijay Dwivedi and Samar Bahadur Singh formed a human chain and raised slogans against the State Government.
Addressing the students, Singh said that despite a week’s protest no action was taken by the State Government and this caused frustration among the students.
He said that the students would intensify the agitation if the State Government failed to take any action on their demands. Yadav demanded immediate dissolution of the Lower Commission while Dwivedi charged the state government with forming the Lower Commission for personal interest.
Samar Bahadur Singh urged the Chief Minister to take action in favour of the students.
PGAT director gheraoed: the AU students gheraoed the director of PGAT Prof Satya Narayan in support of their demand to extend the last date for sale and submission of PG admission forms. AU student leader Vijay Dwivedi, AUU general secretary Suresh Yadav and Rajesh Singh and students held the director for about an hour. They called off the gherao when Prof Narayan said that the last date for PG admission forms would be extended till June 9-10. Yadav also demanded for increasing the number of counters for the convenience of the students. Meanwhile, the AU students under leadership of Abhishek Shukla gheraoed the chairman, Madhyamik Shiksha Chayan Board (MSCB) and demanded publication of the corrected list after revaluation of answer sheets.
MSCB chairman informed the students that a new list would be published by June 20 after revaluation of answer sheets.
