22 states will participate in the 18th Sub Junior Women's National Hockey Championship to be held in Bangalore starting May 17.

The Karnataka State Women's Hockey Association President Radha Murthy said that the nationals were initially allotted to Hassan. But for circumstances beyond control, the venue had been shifted to Bangalore.
In all 11 States have confirmed their entry for the league cum knockout tournament in which teams have been split into six pools with the topper from each group making it to the quarterfinal. Jharkhand and Haryana have been given direct seeding to Quarterfinals.
In all six matches would be held in a day during the league phase. The quarterfinals would be held on May 20 and 21 and the Semifinals on May 22. The final would be held on May 23, she said.
Former Indian player Kamala Srinivasan would be the tournament Director and SS Walia will be the Umpires' manager. Qualified umpires and technical officials would supervise the tournament, she said.
