Sunny gives Bhopal a close win

AN ALL-ROUND display by Sunny Bhatnagar on Friday helped Bhopal Division enter the final of the Master Builder one-day inter-divisional cricket tournament for the late Madhavrao Scindia Trophy sponsored by J P Cement Rewa and organised by MPCA at University grounds.

Batting first, Bhopal could score only 194 runs against Jabalpur. Sunny Bhatnagar played well to score 41 runs. Brajesh Tomar gave good support to his team by scoring 35 and Mudassar Pasha scored 34.

Mayank Rajput, Vikram and Mayank captured two wickets each for Jabalpur. Chasing the low target of 195, Jabalpur batsmen gave a good start and at one stage the team was cruising along well before some accurate bowling by Sunny Bhatnagar and other bowlers left Jabalpur lose wickets regularly and were all out for 162 runs. Jabalpur lost the match by 32 runs.

With this win Bhopal Division has sailed into the final where they will meet Indore Division for the coveted trophy. Sunny Bhatnagar, Suhail and Suboor Baig took two wickets each. Bhatnagar won the man of the match award for his all-round performance.
