Surfer's poem: The Republic Day

Countless, hungry, five-year olds, selling a million Tri Colours to a few thousand car commuters, writes Anand Kapoor.

I still remember that night,
When maths left a terrible fright,
What would happen in the test?

Thinking that, I couldn't rest.
The next day came with the test,
And now I asked, what next?

When the test paper came in front of me,
Nothing clear, could I see?
In fright I gave a loud scream,

And then realised, it was just a dream,
The following day, I practiced till night,
And then I did each sum complete and right.
