Patel claimed the Election Commission had taken notice of the excess power supply to Budhni, which, according to him was done to influence the voters for Budhni Assembly constituency by-poll.

Patel demanded evaluation of expenditure in the Assembly by-poll and starting election process in the constituency afresh with a view to conduct free and fair poll. The voters’ lists should also be revised, he added.

He said the GGP candidate had lodged a complaint and submitted evidence to the Election Commission about huge expenditure on Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s posters, banners and hoardings. It seemed he had spent at least ten times the amount of the expenditure stipulated by the Election Commission. Hence, he should be disqualified for contesting the election.

He said many ministers, MPs, MLAs, State BJP office-bearers and ex-MLAs had not sought permission for using their vehicles for electioneering, hence they had violated the model code of conduct.

They include the ministers Kusum Mehadele, Laxmikant Sharma, Kailash Vijayvargiya, Ch. Chandrabhan Singh, Rustam Singh, Rampal Singh, Narendra Singh Tomar, Narottam Mishra, Vijay Shah, Prakash Sonkar, Ramakant Tiwari, Meena Singh, Antar Singh Arya, Babulal Gaur, Kamal Patel, Moti Kashyap, Nagendra Singh and Anup Mishra.
