What are your main priorities right now?

To improve customer care services, increase deposits and advances, marketing of various SBI products and ensure that the staff work in a more disciplined and professional manner. Besides the target of Multi- Purpose Sales Force (MPSF) need to be further improved.

Will surprise inspection improve the work culture in SBI branches?

Definitely it has started changing the 'casual' approach of staff towards their work. The branches now open on time and the staff more disciplined. Moreover the staff has been made directly accountable to the general public because during inspection the complaints of customers are also listened.

What steps are being taken to recover bad loan?

For the defaulters in rural areas we have decided to make public announcement of their names and request them to attend loan recovery camps in order to avoid any action. In city the name and photograph of defaulters would be published in newspapers to give the message that the defaulters would not be spared.

Are there any special loan schemes for women?

SBI has launched equally good insurance and loan schemes for women. It has also been ensured that all types of loans are disbursed within 24-hours after the approval.

What steps are being taken to improve ATM services?

Daily I study the status report of all the 20 ATMs in Allahabad district. In case there is any problem we immediately handle it and ensure it becomes functional immediately. Sometimes there are problems in off-site ATMs due to power failure.
