"The teachers of this legendary university have more experience and know the issues much better than me.
Each one of them knows about the problems and the challenges facing us and I am confident that together we can make AU to be counted among the best universities of India within the next three years and after that only the sky will be the limit," said an upbeat Wani while talking to HT Allahabad Live.
He said that he has only one mission now and that is to take AU to new heights.
"This is the only aim behind my coming to Allahabad and joining AU. I will work hard along with the Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajen Harshe who is a man of vision and has great ideas for AU's progress. Taking strength of our great heritage and pride from the great politicians, scientists and bureaucrats that the varsity has produced, we need to get down to rebuilding the university keeping our goals in sight," he added. Wani said that during the coming weeks, he would be closely interacting with AU teachers, non-teaching staff and the students to come to terms with the vital challenges that need immediate attention and only then decide on his specific priorities.
