"The ongoing talks and friendship between India and Pakistan will have no bearing on Kashmir issue as the people of the state are the real masters of their destiny and will not accept anything short of right of self-determination," Geelani told reporters at his Hyderpora residence in Srinagar.

Kashmir issue cannot be pushed into cold storage by the friendship of India and Pakistan, he said.

Geelani said, "we have rejected the four-point formula put forth by erstwhile Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf. Likewise, we will reject any other such proposal like maintaining status quo, division of state and softening of borders in future as well."
