Tax facilitation centre to be inaugurated tomorrow

A TAX Information Network (TIN) Facilitation Centre will be inaugurated at Pawan Jaiswal and Associates, Sangam Place, on Monday to provide PAN, TAN allotment and other income tax facilities to the people.
The Income Tax department and National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) has authorised cost accountant and approved valuer (Government of India) of Pawan Jaiswal and Associates, Dr Pawan Jaiswal, to run the TIN facilitation centre in Allahabad.
The services available at this centre as authorised by the I-T department include PAN (permanent account number) application for PAN allotment, TAN (tax deducted and collected account number) applications for TAN allotment, filing of quarterly e-TDS returns in forms 24 Q, 26 Q, 27, 27 EQ and annual e-TDS returns in forms 24, 26, 27 E, filing of I-T returns (paper returns), acceptance of other forms as prescribed by I-T authorities and digitalisation of I-T data for electronic returns, Jaiswal said.
Addressing mediapersons here on Saturday, Dr Jaiswal said the centre would operate on all working days.
A nominal fee would be charged for the services, as prescribed by NSDL. “Rs 50 plus 10.2 per cent service tax will be charged for allotment of PAN number. In this way, by paying just Rs 71, people will get their PAN number,” he added.
Dr Jaiswal further said all the administrative staff posted at the centre were trained by NSDL service facilitator M/s Integrated Enterprises India Limited, Chennai. “We have also sent a proposal to the finance minister for further simplifying the tax network for better understanding and acceptability among the public,” he said.
