TCS to employ 8,000 more in Q4

TCS says it will increase its workforce to 67,000 by the end of this fiscal by adding another 8,000 more people.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) on Thursday said it would increase its workforce to 67,000 by the end of this fiscal by adding another 8,000 more people in the last quarter of the current financial year.

"We will be adding another 8,000 people in the next three months. In this, 3,500 will through direct recruitment and 4,500 through acquisitions," TCS MD and CEO S Ramadorai told reporters in Mumbai.

The company added 6,076 people in Q3. The attrition rate remained at 8.7 per cent throughout the quarter.

The present workforce consists of 6.6 per cent of international associates, which includes 53 nationalities.

Women employees contribute TCS's 23 per cent of the total workforce.
