A government teacher was today arrested for allegedly raping a teenage student in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
A government teacher was today arrested for allegedly raping a teenage student in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
The family of the girl had lodged a complaint with the police that she was raped by her school teacher, Vilayat Ullah, in Dera Darsi area of Poonch, they said.
After registration of the case, a manhunt was launched and the teacher was arrested today, they said, adding the medical examination of the girl had been conducted and the report was awaited.
The teacher has been suspended by the Chief Education officer (CEO), Poonch.
People of the village had held a protest over the alleged incident.
In another incident, a woman has lodged a complaint with the Janipur police station that a woman of Roopnagar belt of Jammu allegedly pushed her into flesh trade, police said.
