The latest incident occurred on Friday when Katiyan, a history honours student in Desh Bandhu Gupta College boarded a Maruti employees bus to go to Delhi.

“He left at 6.10 am without sufficient amount of money and was dropped off at the Maruti factory gates in Sector 18,” said Patram Katiyan, Kapil’s father.

“When we tried to contact him in the evening, we found his mobile phone switched off. Besides searching for him, we also informed the police that we had recovered his mobile phone from the bus but it did not have the sim-card,” he added.

He said that further enquiry into the incident had revealed that someone who looked like a henchman was accompanying him near Electronic City in Sector 18. He is said to have had some food too at a roadside eatery at about 4.30pm.

“My son was not seen after this. I have a strong feeling that he has been drugged and kidnapped by some professional criminals active in Gurgaon, involved in kidnapping young children,” said Katiyan, who is employed as a works manager with a private factory in Bawal and has two other sons.

The investigating officer at Bhondsi police station Tara Chand said the cybercrime team had been mobilised to help investigate the case.

The police have registered a missing report. They are hopeful Kapil would return soon

as he had left the house in a fit of rage, due to not having enough money.
