It is to be noted that on August 9 when Tiwari’s relatives received a coffin which was supposed to be containing his body, they were shocked to see a foreigner’s body inside. It was later revealed that in a tragedy of errors, Subodh’s coffin had changed with that of another victim.

On Wednesday, when the coffin carrying the body of Subodh was brought to his native village Bhaluani under Barhaj police station in Deoria district, people from various villages turned up to have the last glimpse of Subodh Kant. They raised slogans ‘Subodh Kant amar rahe’. Heavy police force was deployed to maintain peace and security on this occasion.

Meanwhile, Subodh’s father Narsingh Tiwari sought a high level inquiry into his son’s death and said it was not a natural death. He condemned the alleged apathetic attitude of the district administration and expressed apprehension that some miscreants had murdered his son.

According to reports, Subodh Kant Tiwari (24), was working as a shipman in Tehran. He was killed in a terrorist attack on July 21 and Tehran government on July 23 informed his family members.
