The temperature fell by upto two degrees celsius in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh on Sunday even as fog engulfed few parts in the region.
Amritsar was coldest in Punjab with 5.2 degrees celsius followed by Narnaul 5.5 deg C, which was one degree below normal, MET office said here.
Ambala and Ludhiana registered at an identical low of 6.6 deg C, while the minimum temperature at Chandigarh was 7.2 deg C.
In Haryana, Karnal settled at 5.6 deg C, two degrees below normal, while Hisar registered 9 deg C, which was two degrees above normal.
Some parts in the region, including Pathankot and Ambala, were engulfed in fog in the morning, the office said.
