India's nominee Shashi Tharoor today announced his withdrawal from the race for the post of United Nations Secretary General after South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-Moon emerged a clear winner in the fourth straw poll.

Tharoor said Ban was a clear winner and is going to be the next Secretary General.
