Leonardo da Vinci could never have known that decoding a cipher under his name would become the world’s favourite pastime in the 21st century.

Besides the book and the film, now music too is in decoding mode. A handful of albums and CDs have come up with music having some connect with the words ‘Da Vinci’.

In addition to the movie’s OST (Universal) by Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer, there’s also the Da Vinci Collection- Music of the Renaissance (EMI), which is a compilation of music made in his time.

Then, there’s Da Vinci Vox - The Hidden Message (EMI), whose tracks have a new-age feel though the orchestrations are traditional.

And, the identity of the artists is a closely guarded secret!

Music Inspired by Da Vinci (Sony BMG) by Dutch composer Jan Kisjes is classical music topped by electronic strains.

And if you still haven’t had enough of the hype, you can shop for related merchandise at and other sites.
