The inquiry into the incident, which occurred ten months back, was completed on November 4 by Calangute police Inspector Nolasco Raposo. The findings were handed over to SP (North) Bosco George yesterday, Superintendent of Police (PRO) Atmaram Deshpande said but declined to divulge details.

The policemen have been found guilty. However, "they have not been charged with rape but only indiscipline," a senior police officer said.

According to police sources, the trio, including a head constable, accosted the victim, allegedly a commercial sex worker, standing by a roadside near Calangute beach and threatened her of arrest if she fails to fulfil their demands.

While one policeman sexually abused her inside the patrolling van, the other two took her clips, they added.
