Three shot dead, two injured in Meerut clash

Three persons were shot dead and two others injured in a shootout on Tuesday evening allegedly as retaliation to the Monday’s bike collision in Zakir colony area here. The assailants managed to escape before police arrived.

According to police an altercation took place between the two groups of youngsters of Zakir colony following a collision of their motorcycles on Monday. The matter was settled after elders of the locality intervened.

On Tuesday evening a clash broke out between the two groups when members of a group passed some objectionable comments on the other. They resorted to firing, which resulted in the death of Umar, Shahid and Munshi. Two other injured, Hashim and Wajid, have sustained bullet injuries and have been admitted at a private hospital, police said.
