Ties with State emotional one, says Sushma Swaraj

BHARATIYA JANATA Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj said here tonight that she did not have a political, but an emotional relationship with Madhya Pradesh.

Talking to journalists on her arrival here, she said she would take this opportunity of her association with the State to be able to serve its people.

Swaraj is one of the four BJP candidates who will file their nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha elections tomorrow. She arrived here this evening over three hours behind scheduled time.

Tomorrow, candidates Sushma Swaraj, Vikram Verma, Narayan Kesari and Anusuiya Uike will reach the BJP office at 10.30 pm. From there, they would go to the Vidhan Sabha in a procession at 11 am to file their nomination papers.

From New Delhi, Sushma Swaraj was accompanied by the two other party candidates Kesari and Uike. State BJP president Satyanarayan Jatia also accompanied the senior leader.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Minister for Commerce and Industries Babulal Gaur, Minister for Water Resources Anoop Mishra, Minister for Public Relations Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister for Revenue Kamal Patel and others received Swaraj and others at the airport.

The Chief Minister hosted a dinner at his residence in honour of Sushma Swaraj tonight where a number of politicians including Ministers were present.

Later, she drove back to the farmhouse at Airport Road for night stay, which she has shown on the papers as her rented
residence.

Uike tenders resignation
STATE SCHEDULED Tribes Commission chairperson Anusuiya Uike today tendered her resignation from the post to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Party sources said, Uike had to submit her resignation as she cannot hold the post of profit simultaneously with the Member of Parliament post.
