Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Uma Shankar Gupta told HT that he had ordered a inquiry into the matter. The video footage of Kumar’s address would be studied and further action would be taken, if necessary, he added.

At the inauguration of the 11th Madhya Pradesh Police Shooting Competition in Indore on Tuesday, Kumar had said, “If a person like Kasab, who is only a Class 8 pass, could fire automatic weapons, use mobiles, global positioning system and other electronic gadgets successfully due to his passion and training, there is no reason why policemen who are better educated cannot do better,” he had said.

Kumar had clarified on Tuesday that he did not intend to praise Kasab and he was quoted out of context. “My entire address was for eight minutes but the media highlighted only eight seconds from it.”
