A top Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was on Saturday gunned down by security forces in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

Acting on a tip off, troops launched a cordon and search operation in Kishtwar belt of Doda district early on Saturday.
During the operation, terrorists hiding in the area started firing on troops and in the ensuing encounter a top LeT terrorist was killed, they said, adding the operation was still going on.
The slain terrorist has been identified as Abu Hamza, sector commander of LeT and a Pakistani national.
One AK rifle, two magazines, 7 grenades, one wireless set and some diaries have been recovered from Hamza's body, the sources said.
