Tourist gangrape case: 3 persons convicted

Three persons were today convicted by a Bihar court for gang-raping a 25-year-old Japanese tourist in Gaya last month.

Three persons were today convicted by a Bihar court for gang-raping a 25-year-old Japanese tourist in Gaya last month.

The court concluded the trial less than a month after the crime took place on April 16.

Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gaya, Rajesh Narain Sevak Pandey found Pappu Kumar, Uday Kumar and Anuj Kumar guilty of raping the Japanese woman.

The court will announce the quantum of punishment later today.

Two other accused Lutan Yadav and Rajan Yadav are still evading arrest. Police have attached the property of the duo.

Police had on April 21 filed the chargesheet in the case against Pappu, Uday and Anuj.

The five had pulled the woman out of an auto-rickshaw and raped her.
