They said that if the criminals were not arrested within 48 hours, they would intensify the agitation. Addressing the agitators, State secretary of Udyog Vyapar Pratinidhi Mandal Satyaprakash Singh Munna, district unit president Sitaram Jaiswal and Santosh Kumar Agrawal said that traders were being robbed of money and valuables but the administration was keeping mum.
BJP MP Yogi Adityanath also reached the spot where the dharna was being held and extended his support to the traders’ agitation. He said that the traders were feeling insecure and the administration remained apathetic towards such incidents.
Some unidentified miscreants looted a shop owner near Tarang Cinema at gunpoint. They looted valuables, Rs 50,000, and the mobiles of the shop owner. When the trader Radha Raman Jaiswal was about to close his shop, a band of unidentified miscreants entered there and started looting.
The miscreants kept the seller and other staff of the shop captive for a while at gunpoint. They also looted a customer Sandhya Tiwari, resident of Humayunpur locality. They snatched the gold chain and the purse from the woman.
The incident shocked the traders. Though the shop was situated on a busy road, the armed miscreant managed to flee from the scene after looting the shop.
