Train coach derails due to fog

A coach of the Shramjivi Express derailed at Gotgaon railway crossing near the railway station here this morning due to low visibility caused by intense fog, causing damage to five motorcycles and two cycle rickshaws, police said.

A coach of the Shramjivi Express derailed at Gotgaon railway crossing near the railway station here this morning due to low visibility caused by intense fog, causing damage to five motorcycles and two cycle rickshaws, police said.

According to DSP, railway police, Hemant Kumar Mishra, the Patna-Delhi train was moving slowly due to intense fog when its coach S-3 derailed.

The derailed coach hit five motorcycles and two cycle rickshaws which were trying to cross the railway track as they could not see the approaching train due to low visibility, he said.

However, no one was injured in the incident, the DSP said, adding, the derailed coach was separated from the train which was allowed to proceed to Delhi.
