Traffic was disrupted in parts of the Nepalese capital on Monday as taxi drivers called a strike to demand compensation for a murdered driver.

Vehicular movement was very thin as roads were blocked by protestors who burnt tyres and held demonstrations in various parts of the city.
Most government staff and factory workers had to walk to their offices. Many schools and colleges, however, were open and markets were operating as usual.
The strike was called to protest the killing of the driver by unidentified assailants three days ago.
