Taking strong note of ‘illegal’ tree-felling, BMC Commissioner Manish Singh told the BMC garden section to file charge-sheet in the district court. On receiving information, Singh sent BMC garden section in-charge Bhagwati Kandwal for the inspection.

It was found that three acacia trees planted along the boundary wall were chopped. Another tree of Mahaneem was also cut. This tree was chopped as it had damaged the sump tank. But other trees were cut without any reason. The BMC would now file charge-sheet against the people involved in the case in the district court within a couple of days. According to the rules, it is necessary to take permission of the BMC for felling the trees within its limits.
