Trend Micro Inc records a 122 % turnover

Trend Micro Inc has upgraded its four-year-old India liaison office into a 100% subsidiary.

Trend Micro Inc, a leading network anti-virus and internet content security software and services provider, has upgraded its four-year-old India liaison office into a 100 per cent subsidiary and said it had recorded 122 per cent growth in turnover during 2004-05.

"We have operated from our liaison offices in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore for the past few years. To support our rapid growth we have decided to upgrade our liaison office to a 100 per cent subsidiary," Trend Micro Country Manager - (India and SAARC) Niraj Kaushik said.

The new entity, Trend Micro India Pvt Ltd, planned to double its present manpower of 20 professionals by 2007, a company release said.

It said the company had clocked 122 per cent growth in turnover in 2004-05. However, the figures were not given.

Kaushik said the market was looking upbeat and the company was firmly poised to becoming 'Number one' in the anti- virus space by 2005 end.

The company said it was looking at sustaining its number one position in Enterprise and Small and Medium Business (SMB) space.

"There is still a tremendous untapped potential for antivirus solutions in India. If we go by statistics, SMB segment is the fastest growing. About 44 per cent of the total IT spend of Rs 26,100 crore comes from SMB segment," he added.
