It is the most awaited cultural extravaganza which has been the annual event at Magh Mela.
In a meeting organised under the chairmanship of Commissioner Allahabad Division, Dr Lalit Verma, held at Circuit House on Tuesday, various officials were given directions as to the collection of funds for the purpose.
A souvenir will be published in which the efforts will be made to collect money through advertisements given by various business houses including banks, nursing homes, petrol pumps and hotels.
The mementos for the participants will be made of better quality this time.
Efforts are underway to invite such artistes to the show who are of national and international repute which will help in conveying various hues to the event.
The dates of the event will be decided at a meeting proposed to be called on January 24 and 27.
At another meeting held afterwards the discussions were held regarding the beautification of the city.
Taking into account the expected increase in population of the city in the next 15 to 25 years, the officials of Jal Nigam, Nagar Nigam, PWD, Power supply and ADA were informed about the scheme --Jawahar Lal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission--in which the budget of Rs 50,000 crore has been set apart by the Government of India and the city has been listed as one among the others requiring development.
The officials were asked to prepare a blueprint of the required developments so that it could be sent to the Central Government through the State Government.
It is to be noted that issues such as providing special facilities to the pilgrims visiting the city during Magh Mela and Kumbh Mela, construction of roads, bridges, etc will be included.
The scheme will also include the establishment of Cyber Technology Park, Biotechnolgy Park, permanent bathing ghats at Ganga, construction of multi-storeyed parking slots in Civil Lines area besides the construction of another campus of Allahabad University.
There are also plans to construct flyovers, and the publicity of the new schemes will be done with the help of citizens. Freeing the river Ganga of pollution is also one of the mammoth schemes.
Those present in the meeting were DM Amrit Abhijat, and several other officials.
