"Though TRS has pulled out of the Congress-led UPA and its leader quit the Lok Sabha seat, it appears that the two parties have a secret pact, going by the soft stand taken by TRS on Congress and its policies in the state," said Vidyasagara Rao, tipped to be the saffron party's candidate for the Karimnagar Lok Sabha by-poll.

Congress and TRS have "deceived" the people of Telangana and it remains to be seen during the by-poll as to what stand the two parties take and the mandate they get, he said.

"Only a BJP-led NDA government can achieve a separate Telangana state as the UPA and Congress have gone back on their poll promise on statehood," Rao, a former union minister, said.

The BJP leader said his party was prepared to back any bill moved in Parliament in support of Telangana state.
