The TRS MLAs held a sit-in at the residence of the Speaker demanding that he accept their resignations immediately.

"We told him that we cannot continue in our posts as a number of Telangana youths are committing suicides. He told us that he would talk to us personally in the next few days and take a decision," TRS floor leader in the Assembly E Rajender told reporters.

The TRS' decision to mount pressure on the Speaker came on a day a student allegedly committed suicide at the Osmania University here in support of separate Telangana.

Angry over the alleged suicide of the student, students of the Osmania University did not allow his body to be lifted from the campus.

They demanded that the public representatives from Telangana quit immediately to mount pressure on the Centre to announce a clear timeframe for the formation of separate Telangana.
