AN ELEPHANT and her two mahouts were injured when a speedily driven truck hit the pachyderm from behind near Gandhi Nagar on the night intervening Wednesday and Thursday.

The elephant got seriously injured and fell into a ditch on the roadside. Police said the elephant that was on its way towards Raisen was hit near the petrol pump by a recklessly driven truck.
