Tug of war over abattoir intensifies

The municipal corporation officials have clarified that the proposed slaughterhouse would not be constructed within the jurisdiction area of municipal corporation and Gorakhpur Nagar Nigam has located a piece of land at Bhitirawat at Sahjanwa for the construction of slaughterhouse.

Sharply reacting over the new proposal of the municipal corporation, BSP MLA from Sahjanwa GM Singh warned the district administration for shifting the controversy into his assembly constitution. He said peoples of Sahjanwa would strongly oppose the GNN proposal and would not allow the construction of slaughterhouse at Bhitirawat.

He said that district administration has hatched a conspiracy to shift the slaughterhouse in his area.

Meanwhile, director of the UP Minority Financial and Development Corporation and senior SP leader Zafar Amin Dakku expressed concern over politicising the issue, which could triggered off communal tension in the city.
