IT IS time for the political leaders and ticket-seekers to switch over their loyalties and political parties. They are trying to make a dent in their rivals’ ranks.

When saffron brigade and BJP succeeded to mobilise Anju Chaudhary, former SP candidates for mayoral election to join BJP, Samajwadi Party got success in creating defection in saffron brigade as traders’ community leaders Sitaram Jaiswal, who was closed to BJP MP Yogi Adityanath, joined SP in Lucknow to get the SP ticket for mayoral post.

Congress is also trying to make a dent in SP, as various leaders aspirant for the mayoral ticket are in close touch with Congress leaders and they could switch over their loyalty if the party would give them the party ticket.

Former SP leader Anju Chaudhary accepted the primary membership of BJP at district party office on Tuesday and Sitaram Jaiswal along with State Minister for Agriculture Jaiprakash Yadav would arrive here from Lucknow to file his nomination papers.

Meanwhile, hectic political activities witnessed here at district collectorate premises where the filing of nomination papers was started today. On first day, two nomination papers for mayoral post were submitted. Beside, the leaders for corporator’s post filed 17 nomination papers today.
