Two bodies found under mysterious circumstances in Shillong

The body of nineteen-year-old student of St Edmund's College, Romeo Kuki, was found on the main road near Nongthymmai Beat House in the city on Tuesday night, police said.

The second body has been identified to be that of Montu Sen Gupta (42), an employee of Pasteur Institute. According to police, Gupta had gone missing on July 8 and a missing diary was filed on the following day. On Wednesday, the body was recovered below a culvert near PGT College in a highly decomposed state.

DSP (Crime) Vivek Syiem, "It would be premature to make any comments right now as we are still waiting for the post mortem reports."

Meanwhile, in another incident, Gregory Sohliya, a 20-year-old college student from Bishnupur locality in the city tried to commit suicide this afternoon by slashing his arm with sharp weapon.
