According to the police, the victim, Rakesh Kataria, lodged an FIR against Ashok Kumar Jain and Rohit Jain alleging that the duo had duped him of Rs 29 lakh.

He paid them the money for a plot in March this year.

After receiving the payment from the victim, the accused gave him some fake documents. The documents were allegedly prepared in a Madhya Pradesh town.

When Kataria contacted them to learn about his property, they ignored him. It was only when he enquired about the plot with the local administration, he learnt about the fraud and informed the police.
