Two held for selling free drug samples

POLICE ON Wednesday arrested two persons for selling medicines meant as free samples and seized drugs worth over Rs 8 lakh from them. Searches are also being conducted on some medical representatives in connection with the case.

POLICE ON Wednesday arrested two persons for selling medicines meant as free samples and seized drugs worth over Rs 8 lakh from them. Searches are also being conducted on some medical representatives in connection with the case.

Chimanganj police raided a confectionary shop in Hira Mill area and seized large quantity of medicines, which was marked as samples and not meant for sale in market.

Shop owner Anand told the police that purchased medicines from medical representatives (MRs) at much lower rates and sold them to medical shops and even doctors in rural places.

Police also arrested one Bhawani Singh who had worked as MR and was an accomplice of Anand. The police are interrogating them to reveal more links in the racket.
