The duo, Ekta Khullar and Pallavi Sharma, would participate in the Oregon Scientific Phoenix Cup, to be organised by Hong Kong Baseball Association from Febuary 14 to 18, Women Baseball Federation of India (WBFI) said in Chandigarh.

WBFI chairman Deepak Joshi said the selection was based on the experience and knowledge of the game of the two players.

"It is a great honour and privilege that two upcoming Indian women baseball players have been selected by USA league to represent it and to participate in the prestigious Women Baseball Tournament in Hong Kong," he added.

Achievements of Khullar, who hails from Chandigarh, include a third position in the National Baseball Tournament in Cuttack (2006).

Pallavi Sharma, from Uttaranchal, was in the team which won Federation Cup last year.
