Two injured in landmine blast by Naxals

Naxals tried to blow up a police vehicle by setting off a landmine blast, leaving two security personnel injured in Maoist-infested Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

Naxals tried to blow up a police vehicle by setting off a landmine blast, leaving two security personnel injured in Maoist-infested Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

The jawans of Central Reserve Police Force were on their way to Kuankoda village from Palnar when Naxalites triggered the blast, damaging the police vehicle about 350 km from here, Deputy Superintendent of Police Pawan Dev told reporters in Raipur.

Two CRPF personnel were injured in the blast. The Naxalites also opened fired on the security personnel who retaliated.

The naxals escaped after the incident. However, four suspects were arrested in the combing operation in the area.
