“The blast took place on Thursday when an IED planted by suspected insurgents of outlawed National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) went off near a place where National Projects Construction Corporation (NPCC) personnel were engaged in barbed wire fencing,” DIG (police control) Nepal Chandra Das said.

Confirmed the report, BSF DIG A K Singh said, a BSF jawan and another person received minor injuries in the blast.

The ultras were trying to resist the fencing as it was posing a hurdle for them to enter the Indian territory from their base camp areas in the Chittagong Hill Tract in Bangladesh, Das said.
