Two poachers nabbed at bird sanctuary

Two poachers of migratory birds were arrested and over 20 birds seized from them in a sanctuary in Bihar, police officials here said.

Forest officials raiding the prohibited area of the Kawar Lake Bird Sanctuary in Begusarai district arrested the two.

They were booked under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and produced in the court of the chief judicial magistrate Thursday.

Poaching of the sanctuary's migratory birds has been reported from time to time.

The seized birds have been released into the lake.
