Two shot dead by militants in Manipur
Two persons, a chowkidar of a school and a shopkeeper, have been shot dead in separate incidents in interior Thoubal and Imphal West districts in Manipur, say sources.

of a school and a shopkeeper, have been shot dead in separate incidents in interior Thoubal and Imphal West districts in Manipur, official sources said on Monday.
Unidentified militants called out Nameirakpam Shyam (40) who worked as a
chowkidar
of Oinam Sawombung High School in Imhal West district, from his house at Samurou area last night and shot him dead from point blank range.
In another incident, militants gunned down Md Alibur Rehaman (35), a shopkeeper, at Lilong area in interior Thoubal district on Sunday, sources said.
Both the bodies have been sent to the regional institute of medical science and hospital in Imphal for post mortem.
The motive behind the crime was not immediately known.
Angry local residents of the two places protested the killings by taking out demonstrations and demanded immediate arrest of the killers, reports said.
