Two SIMI activists held from Wardha district

They were arrested on suspicion of their alleged involvement in terror activities, police said in Nagpur.

Two activists of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) were arrested on Friday from the adjacent Wardha district on suspicion of their alleged involvement in terror activities, police said in Nagpur.

Police said Waqar Baig Yusuf Baig, 32, was picked up from Mahadeopura in Wardha city and another person Jitaullah Rehman Mehmood Khan (33) was rounded up from Kazipur in the textile township in Hinganghat of the same district, near Nagpur.

Both were produced before a local court which remanded them to police custody till August 22, police added.
