Ujjwal Nikam, special public prosecutor in the 1993 bomb blasts case, slammed actor Salman Khan for his tweets in support of Yakub Memon.

"His statement directly amount to contempt to court," Nikam told Hindustan Times, adding: "The impression created amongst his followers is that Yakub is innocent. What proof does Salman Khan have?

Nikam stated that Khan's tweet in which he appeals to Pakistan also shows that he has "influence" in the neighbouring country.

"In the first set of tweets, he appealed Pakistan to hand over Tiger. While I welcome his appeal, this also means that he is aware of his location. The country is known for its belief on judiciary and Khan's statement has questioned it, " said Nikam.
